Homecoming!

After 14 days in space,

Endeavour's mission

was completed on orbit 217. 

Crew installed the Tranquility node.

A cupola

with a breathless panoramic view of Earth

and celestial objects. 

Soichi whispered:

«In there

The view is out-of-the- world!»


But greater than this, it  is...
Homecoming!

ENDEAVOUR DE VOLTA A CASA

Olhando para a imagem do retorno à Terra da nave ENDEAVOUR, no do 22 de Fevereiro, evoco o prazer, o calor e o bem-estar do regresso a casa. Por muito que percorramos o espaço, Gaia continua a ser o mais sereno e humano lugar de acolhimento. O astronauta Soichi, tripulante da Endeavour, teceu este comentário: «Eu observei a reentrada do shuttle através da Cúpula. A vista era definitivamente transcendente» (I watched the shuttle atmospheric reentry from Cupola window. The view was definitely out-of-the-world *o*/.»http://twitter.com/Astro_Soichi). A mesma impressão nos legou Fernando Pessoa, em MAR PORTUGUEZ,  no seu poema “O Infante”:«E viu-se a terra inteira, de repente/ Surgir, redonda, do azul profundo»   É o retorno ao útero, à terra-mãe. É a celebração de Gaia que, no meio de todas as intempéries da vida,  recebe sempre generosamente!
